Island Pointe Golf Club is an 18-hole par 72 championship course measuring 7,001 yards from the championship tees, designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills. Located in Kodak, Tennessee, ideally situated between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains, the course is spectacularly set on over 175 acres of breathtaking views where bald eagles soar high above the river otters playing along the river banks. The course opened in 1991 and features a true, links style design.
At a slope rating of 146 and course rating of 74.3, this championship links style course is the most challenging public golf course in East Tennessee from the back tees but plays a manageable 6,300 yards from the regular tees. The course plays along the water, among the islands of the French Broad River, and has become known for its beautiful Zoysia fairways and smooth mini-verdi Bermuda greens. The three islands in the middle of the French Broad River play an integral part in the design and routing of the golf course with holes 3, 4, 5, 15, and 16 sharing the islands.
Notable holes include the par 3 15th at 159 yards with water all down the left side, the short par 5 16th requiring a drive over water, and the 18th hole, a 400-yard dogleg left that plays downhill into a well-protected green with water on the left and sand on the right.
