Heritage Golf Club in Bel Ombre, Mauritius, offers a 45-hole destination comprising two distinct championship courses. The property is home to Le Château Golf Course and La Réserve Golf Links, providing a diverse range of playing experiences on the southern shores of the island. The facility is recognized as a premier golf destination in the Indian Ocean, hosting tournaments and attracting players seeking varied challenges. Le Château Golf Course is set within the landscaped grounds of a 19th-century chateau, featuring lush fairways, lakes, streams, and grand centenary trees. The course plays on gentle foothills and sweeps down toward the ocean, offering a tropical garden atmosphere. It has consistently been voted the Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course and has hosted multiple editions of the Mauritius Open, a DP World Tour event. The course offers five sets of tees, ranging from the Gold tees at 6,498 meters to the Red tees at 4,761 meters, catering to various skill levels. La Réserve Golf Links is the Indian Ocean’s first and only links-style course, co-designed by Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen. It plays alongside a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, with panoramic ocean views from every hole. The course was created from former sugar cane fields, planted with native grasses to create rolling grasslands that encourage ecological diversity. It holds GEO Certified Development status and hosted the 2023 DP World Tour Mauritius Open. The course is ranked 28th in Golfweek’s 2026 Top 100 International Courses and 11th in Africa.
