Eagle Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course located in the eastern Kentucky foothills near Louisa, Kentucky at Yatesville Lake State Park. The course features 6,630 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. Designed by Arthur Hills, the course opened in 2003. Golf Digest magazine named Eagle Ridge one of the nation's "Best New Affordable Public Golf Courses" in 2005, ranking third on the magazine's annual list.
The course was designed by renowned golf course architects Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest who incorporated the rugged beauty of the region to create a one-of-a-kind golf masterpiece. The course is built mainly along the ridges on the hills of eastern Kentucky, with many forced carries over ravines and an amazing tee shot that goes down hundreds of feet to the fairway. Several holes have elevation changes, slopes to contend with and little room for error off of the tee or on approach shots.
The par 5 hole number 4 is a beautiful and challenging hole and the front nine is more difficult of the two. Hole 13 drops 100 plus feet in elevations with the lake in the background. While Eagle Ridge isn't the longest course, it is tight and requires accurate ball striking to place shots well, with mistakes often resulting in out of bounds.
