Sugarwood Golf Club

Sugarwood Golf Club is an 18-hole public course that opened in 1965 as a nine-hole layout before the back nine was added years later. The course offers multiple tee options ranging from 5,186 to 6,710 yards, accommodating golfers of varying skill levels.

Beginning in 1989, the course underwent significant renovations, with an architect initially redesigning four holes. Owner Ed Allen subsequently added his vision to each hole individually, with hole #16 completing the full 18-hole renovation in 2012. The course continues to receive ongoing improvements, including revised tee boxes and new cart paths.

Sugarwood is consistently ranked among the best public golf courses in the state. The facility operates seasonally, opening at dawn until sundown, with tee times available Saturday, Sunday, and holidays only. The course maintains a golf shop and offers lessons through a launch monitor system.
