The Club at Creighton Farms features an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which has been recognized as one of the premier private courses on the Eastern Seaboard—rated 9th in Virginia by Golfweek and 10th on Golf Digest's Best in State rankings. The course has a par of 72 and features 7,365 yards from the back tees. The Jack Nicklaus Signature design opened for play in 2007.
The course is situated between the quaint, historic towns of Middleburg and Leesburg in picturesque Northern Virginia horse country, with the idyllic Blue Ridge and Bull Run Mountains as its backdrop. Water hazards feature on several holes, thanks mainly to a small creek that winds its way through the property, so the playing strategy here is very much based on precision, not power. The open front nine winds around and over ponds and streams with generous fairways lined by high fescue, while the back nine works into more heavily wooded areas.
The course is home to the Creighton Farms Invitational Hosted by Jack Nicklaus, one of the D.C. area's most coveted tee times. Started in 2012, the invitational is one of a handful of elite tournaments created by Mr. and Mrs. Nicklaus to benefit the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation and has raised nearly $12 million for the Foundation and other children's healthcare charities. The course has received Aubudon Sanctuary Certification for environmental preservation.
