Bull Run Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 championship course stretching 6,961 yards, set on 450 acres in the foothills of Virginia's Bull Run Mountain near Haymarket. Architect Rick Jacobson designed the course with the player in mind, and his aim was to preserve the look of the land and create a player-friendly course with wide fairways in a concave/convex shape and large landing areas. The course opened in 1998.

From the back tees, the course is difficult enough to challenge the best hitters, especially if the greens are set with tough pin locations. The course is surprisingly forgiving, designed for brave golfers to challenge themselves and for novice golfers to play to their abilities. The expansive course layout meanders through acres of undeveloped scenic meadows, ponds, and woodlands.

Golf Magazine named Bull Run Golf Club "The Best New Public Course" in 1999, the Washington Times called it "The Best Public Course in the D.C. Area" in 2000, and Washington Golf Monthly named it one of "The Mid-Atlantic's 100 Must-Play Courses".
