The Sinclair Cup is a 36-hole individual strokeplay competition for men, played on the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch Golf Club on Saturday 18th July 2026. Entry is open to male golfers holding a WHS handicap index of 10.5 or less who are members of a recognised golf club affiliated to a national Golf Association (iGolf/independent schemes excluded). The field is limited to 72 competitors, selected by ballot on 15th May 2026 based on lowest handicap indices if oversubscribed. Entry is by online ballot only via Golf Genius; entries in person, via email or telephone are not accepted. Entrants are advised not to book travel or accommodation until receiving email confirmation of their place after the ballot. Entry fees are £144 for visitors, £96 for Struie members, and £48 for club members. Tee times are allocated by 10th July 2026, with starting times determined by handicap index (lowest indexes go out last). Distance measuring devices are permitted provided they do not measure elevation changes or interpret directional information. The overall scratch winner wins the Sinclair Cup. The Royal Dornoch Golf Club member with the best 36-hole net score wins the Taylor Bullock Salver. All prize winners are expected to attend the prize-giving ceremony. In the event of a tie, a countback process applies (back nine, back 6, back 3, last hole, then hole-by-hole from 17th to 1st).

Royal Dornoch Championship Course is one of the world's finest links courses, located on the north shore of the Dornoch Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Notable golf legends including Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, and Jack Nicklaus have played Royal Dornoch. Donald Ross, a native of Dornoch, began his legendary design career as greenkeeper and professional at the club.
