David Urquhart Memorial Trophy 2026

18-hole Stableford competition played in 4-balls on the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Men play from the orange tees; women play from the grey tees. Open to men and women with Amateur Status who hold a World Handicap System (WHS) handicap of no more than 24.9 (men) or 30.4 (women) and who are members of at least one recognised golf club affiliated to a national Golf Association; entries from golfers who are solely members of OpenPlay, iGolf, FlexiGolf, Links Golf, Union Clubs or similar flexible-fee independent-golfer organisations are not accepted. This is a balloted competition: the ballot is held at 5pm on 20th August 2026 and successful entrants are notified on 21st August 2026; unsuccessful entrants are placed on a waiting list. The starting field comprises 68 competitors, of whom 8 are sponsors and 4 represent Whisky Cellars. Entry must be submitted electronically via Golf Genius; entries in person, by email or by telephone are not accepted. It is recommended not to book travel or accommodation until confirmation of ballot success is received. Entry fee: £114 for visitors, £84 for Struie members, £54 for members. The fee includes a bacon roll prior to play and a one-course meal after play. Tee times are allocated by 16th October 2026 and are randomly generated, with an option to request early, late or specific tee times and to name travel partners. The overall winner receives the David Urquhart Trophy; in the event of a tie, a countback is applied on the back nine, then back 6, back 3, last hole, and if necessary a hole-by-hole countback from the 17th to the 1st.
