The Fraser Shield / Gardner Trophy is a 36-hole individual strokeplay competition for male golfers, played on Saturday 5th September 2026 at Royal Dornoch Golf Club. One round is played from the green tees on the Championship Course and one round from the green tees on the Struie Course. The event is open to male golfers with a current World Handicap System (WHS) Handicap Index of 10.5 or less who are members of at least one recognised golf club affiliated to a national Golf Association. Entries are submitted online via Golf Genius. The starting field is limited to 90 competitors. If the event is oversubscribed at 5pm on 2nd July 2026, a ballot will be conducted; successful entrants will be notified on 3rd July 2026. Unsuccessful entrants or those entering after the ballot date will be placed on a waiting list. Tee times will be allocated by 29th August 2026. Entry fees: Visitor £120, Struie Member £80, Member £40. Prizes: The overall scratch winner wins the Gardner Trophy; the lowest Royal Dornoch Golf Club member's 36-hole net score wins the Fraser Shield. All competitors must participate in the competition in its entirety. Distance measuring devices are permitted (no elevation measurement). Winners must attend the prize-giving ceremony. Royal Dornoch Championship Course

Royal Dornoch Championship Course is one of the world's finest links courses, located on the north shore of the Dornoch Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Donald Ross, a native of Dornoch, began his legendary design career as greenkeeper and professional at the club.
