The Saturday Dog Fight is a weekly individual stableford competition held every Saturday at Westport Golf Club in Denver, NC. The event uses a Modified Stableford Point System where players compete individually to climb the leaderboard. The entry fee is $20 cash, which covers the points game, closest to the pins, skins, and a bonus random skin with rollover pot. Green and cart fees are paid separately. Tee assignments are based on gender and age: men 59 and under play from white tees, men 60-69 from gold tees, men 70+ and ladies from red tees, with all ladies and men 70+ playing holes 3 and 4 from the gold tees. Players must have a verified GHIN handicap; first-time players without a GHIN handicap can still participate by paying an additional $10 (covering skins and pins only), after which their point quota will be established for future events. Sign-up requires a phone call to the pro shop by Thursday at 5:00 PM.
