The Wednesday Qualifier is an individual open competition held every Wednesday from May to September at Mitchelstown Golf Club. Open to all golfers with a recognised GUI or ILGU handicap, the entry fee is €30. Each week, the top three finishers qualify for the September Final. A closest-the-pin shoot-out runs alongside every round as a separate competition within the competition. The September Final offers €1,000 in prizes, with a €500 shoot-out prize. Entry is made online via the club's booking system, with payment by cash or credit/debit card in the clubhouse on the day. Normal GUI/ILGU dress code applies and soft spikes must be worn.
