Junior open stroke play competition at Goose River Golf Club in Rockport, Maine, held on Friday 17 July 2026. Part of the Maine Junior Open Series. Open to all juniors under the age of 19. Maximum field of 60 players. Maximum handicap index of 16.0 for high schoolers and 28.0 for middle schoolers. Entry fee is $30. Format is individual and team stroke play with a pick-your-partner team option (team entry is not mandatory). Two co-ed flights: High School Flight and Middle School Flight (girls play from a similar rated set of tees). Players must hold an official handicap index and be affiliated with a golf club. Registration is via Golf Genius (create a Golf Genius profile if you do not already have one). Parents and spectators are welcome but must remain at least 50 feet from players and may not give instruction or advice. Caddies are permitted provided they have basic knowledge of the game and do not slow play.


Prizes

Individual champion receives a trophy and Maine Golf voucher money. Team champions receive a trophy and Maine Golf voucher money. Voucher amounts depend on field size.

Formerly known as Freeport Country Club, it was leased by Maine Golf in 2022 to support the organization's mission of growing the sport throughout Maine.
