Forest Greens Golf Course

VA

Forest Greens is an 18-hole course at the Forest Greens Golf Club facility in Triangle, Virginia, featuring 6,839 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Clyde B. Johnston, ASGCA, the Forest Greens golf course opened in 1996. The course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 129. Set in the rolling terrain of the Piedmont in Triangle, VA not far from Quantico Marine Base, it is a course that offers challenge, magnificent vistas, natural settings, and golf as it was envisioned. Forest Greens features pine tree-lined fairways, well-protected greens and gently rolling terrain. Tree rimmed fairways feature lush Vamont Bermuda grass, with bentgrass tees, greens and an expansive three-tier bentgrass driving range. Accurate tee shots to fairways lined with huge oaks and pines are essential to good scoring, but Johnston's links-style layout has very few blind shots and the greens are generally large with wide fringes. The back nine opens with Forest Green's signature hole, a long par 5 that drops more than 80 feet from tee to green. The course has been awarded four stars from Golf Digest. Since its opening in 1996, Golf for Women has named it one of their top 100 courses for women.
