Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri is a 54-hole golf resort located within the Novo Sancti Petri urbanisation near Chiclana de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz, on the Costa de la Luz. The complex covers over 400 hectares of Atlantic coastline and umbrella pine forest, and is the first golf development in Spain - and among the first in Europe - to have been designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The original 27 holes opened in May 1990, with the official clubhouse inauguration held in December of that year in the presence of the Count of Barcelona and Ballesteros himself. Course A measures 6,460 metres from the back tees with a slope of 138, while Course B measures 6,041 metres with a slope of 140. Course A combines two contrasting nine-hole loops: the outward half runs over open, relatively flat ground close to the Atlantic, offering wide fairways and sea views, while the inward half moves inland through tighter, tree-lined avenues of pine.
