Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri

Andalucía

Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri is a 54-hole golf resort located within the Novo Sancti Petri urbanisation near Chiclana de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz, on the Costa de la Luz. The complex covers over 400 hectares of Atlantic coastline and umbrella pine forest, and is the first golf development in Spain - and among the first in Europe - to have been designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The original 27 holes opened in May 1990, with the official clubhouse inauguration held in December of that year in the presence of the Count of Barcelona and Ballesteros himself. A further nine holes were added in 2001 to complete two full 18-hole courses, and a third course at the nearby Campano site was extended to 18 holes in 2007, bringing the total to 54. The club was granted the Royal title in May 2016. The two principal courses - known as Course A (Mar-Pinos, or Sea and Pines) and Course B (Centro) - both play to a par of 72. Course A measures 6,460 metres from the back tees with a slope of 138, while Course B measures 6,041 metres with a slope of 140. Course A combines two contrasting nine-hole loops: the outward half runs over open, relatively flat ground close to the Atlantic, offering wide fairways and sea views, while the inward half moves inland through tighter, tree-lined avenues of pine. Course B features a notably unusual configuration of six par-3s, six par-4s, and six par-5s, giving it a distinctive rhythm and challenge not commonly found in championship layouts. The par-4 6th hole on Course A is the most celebrated on the property, playing to a raised green positioned directly above the La Barrosa beach with panoramic views of the Atlantic. Water hazards appear throughout both courses, and Ballesteros left a personal signature on Course B's 18th hole in the form of a bunker shaped like the letter S. The resort's practice facilities are extensive, with over 150 driving range bays, multiple putting and chipping areas, and a par-3 practice course. A Jack Nicklaus Academy and a full-time PGA Golf Academy with resident professionals are also based on site.

Beyond the main courses, the club maintains a pitch & putt, a putting green, and an approach green for practice.
