The course features five sets of tee boxes accommodating golfers of all skill levels, with premium Jones Dwarf Bermuda grass greens. The design incorporates trees, doglegs, water hazards, and bunkers to create visual variety and demand strategic club selection throughout the round. Village Golf Club operates as a public daily-fee facility with a modern Key West-style clubhouse. Amenities include a full-service practice area with a grass driving range, practice putting green, and chipping green with sand bunkers. The pro shop stocks equipment from major brands including Nike, Titleist, and Bridgestone. Village Green Golf Course in Mundelein, Illinois, was opened in 1962 and designed by Ray Didier, the former superintendent of Tam O'Shanter during its tournament-hosting heyday. The course includes water hazards from two ponds affecting up to five holes in a straightforward parkland-style design. Most holes run parallel to each other, with homes bordering the southern edge. Ray Didier's design focused on challenging playability, and for many years Village Green was a staple of the central Lake County golf scene. Ownership changed hands when the Mundelein School District bought the land in 2004 for $8.4 million for possible school expansion, but the anticipated enrollment boom never happened, making it quite possibly the only course in the country owned by a high school.
