Bridges Golf Club

PA

The Bridges Golf Club is a 6,713-yard, par-72 layout designed by Charles & Fred Altland, situated on a former horse farm owned by the Bross family in Adams County. The course features 14 wooden bridges (including one covered bridge on No. 2) crossing mostly environmentally sensitive wetlands, creeks, and lakes. The course opened in 1995. The front nine is the more wooded of the two nines and generally considered the more difficult, including the only real forced carry off a tee on the course at No. 2, and a par 4 at the 410-yard No. 6 that sits precariously on a crowned fairway with very little room for error. One of the better holes on the back nine is the 534-yard, par-5 No. 15, which has woods and out of bounds down the right side and an old dead tree about two-thirds down the fairway, creating a narrow and challenging approach to the green. Course conditions are typically very good with slightly above average green speeds, and greens can be tricky depending on hole locations. The course appeals to single digit handicappers but is also very playable for high handicaps and beginners, as golfers will not score their best round without hitting solidly, but also won't lose multiple sleeves of balls.
