Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club, founded in 1891, is the oldest golf club in Dorset. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty alongside the famous Chesil Beach on the Jurassic Coast, the course combines links and cliff-top terrain with spectacular panoramic views across Lyme Bay to the west and Portland Bill to the east, plus rolling Hardy countryside to the north.
This championship-standard course is renowned as one of the most exhilarating and challenging on England's south coast. A distinctive feature is one hole with a dramatic 90-foot drop, exemplifying the dramatic topography. The layout offers relatively generous fairways and is considered suitable for holiday golf, though not overly severe. Wind conditions are a significant factor in play.
The course features gender-free tees and operates with World Handicap System course handicap tables. The club also maintains a TopTracer Driving Range with various game modes. The venue has gained additional prominence from its location in the successful ITV drama series 'Broadchurch'. The clubhouse offers catering and event facilities, with PGA professional instruction available.
