Half Moon Golf Course is an 18-hole par-72 championship course designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and opened in 1962. Located in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the course is routed through a retired sugarcane estate and hugs the slopes of hills overlooking Half Moon, offering scenic Caribbean views.
The classic bow-tie layout features multiple tee sets ranging from 5,035 to 7,120 yards, accommodating both scratch and novice golfers. The course is characterized by 26 shallow-faced fairway bunkers and contoured greens designed for surface drainage. Trade winds from the Caribbean Sea significantly influence play, creating both challenges and opportunities.
Renowned as one of the finest walking courses, Half Moon was modernized by Roger Rulewich, who removed non-native trees, expanded greens, and renovated bunkers. The course has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including the Jamaica Open Golf Championship multiple times, European PGA Seniors Tournament, and Celebrity Players Tour Jamaica Classic. Expert caddies with decades of experience provide valuable course knowledge. The facility includes practice bays, bunker and putting greens, and a pro shop, making it a premier golf destination in Jamaica.
