Located in Scarsdale, New York, the course is one of six public golf courses run by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The 18-hole course can be played at three yardages—5,375, 6,038, and 6,293 yards—and features a par-72 layout with trees, rough, and out of bounds as main defenses. The course's rolling, wooded landscape gives it tremendous character, and it exudes a vintage parkland aura with narrow fairways and elevated greens on rolling terrain that is very walkable. Water in the form of a creek factors into play on a handful of holes, while bunkers are shallow and not overly penalizing. The signature hole is the par-3 16th, a downhill tee shot to a postage stamp-sized green protected by bunkers on both sides. All of Saxon Woods' tees have been completely renovated, along with several greens. For a course that is so heavily played, Saxon Woods earns plaudits for its greens and overall conditions.
