Radnor Valley Country Club

PA

Radnor Valley Country Club was originally designed in 1952 by notable Philadelphia course architect Dick Wilson and was redesigned in 1968 by Bill Gordon. The 18-hole course features 6,562 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. Located in Villanova, Pennsylvania on the Philadelphia Main Line, the course is situated on a property with significant natural features. The front nine loops around the south end of the property primarily in the hills while the back nine is set on the northerly meadows and wetlands. The course has tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and water following players along the back nine. The course is a very challenging par 70 with a great mix of long and short holes, and is a classic shot-makers golf course demanding accurate tee shots and well struck approach shots positioned below the hole in order to negotiate the sloping slick greens. Water comes into play on eight holes. The course underwent significant changes due to highway construction; in the mid 60s the golf course was redesigned by Bill Gordon to accommodate the Blue Route (RT 476), and in 1997 Ault Clark and Associates rebuilt all the putting greens to USGA specifications. Radnor Valley has hosted numerous prominent local PGA Section and Golf Association of Philadelphia tournaments, including the Philadelphia Section PGA Championship in 2013, USGA US Open Local Qualifier in 1999, and serves as proud host of multiple PGA tournaments and qualifiers.

All holes maintain their original par values, making the course accessible to beginners and junior players while preserving the integrity of the design. The course distinguishes itself through innovative tee placement, with most teeing grounds marked on the right edge of fairways, except holes 5 and 6 which feature left-side positioning. Located at the University of Michigan, Radrick Farms emphasizes inclusivity and skill development, allowing younger players and adult beginners to enjoy full 18-hole rounds rather than being restricted to shorter, traditional forward tees. The facility includes a driving range and maintains environmental stewardship practices.

Rainbow Hills CC

음성군

Rainbow Hills Country Club is located in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, and features three distinct 18-hole courses: the East, South, and West courses. The facility is set within a landscape of deep valleys and mountainous terrain, incorporating natural elements such as waterfalls and terraced ponds into the layout. The fairways are planted with high-quality Kentucky bluegrass, a cool-season grass that provides a distinct texture and playing condition compared to the warm-season grasses common in the region. The design strategy emphasizes integration with the surrounding nature, avoiding artificial aesthetics in favor of a course that flows with the existing topography. The courses offer varying levels of difficulty, indicated by their course and slope ratings. From the Championship tees, the East Course presents a rating of 73.6 with a slope of 132, while the Regular tees offer a 71.7 rating with a 129 slope. The Ladies tees from the Championship markers yield a 75.3 rating and a 133 slope. The design requires strategic shot-making, with specific holes demanding precise approach shots to avoid hazards or unfavorable lies. For instance, the first hole on the East Course challenges players with a tee shot that can become burdensome if not managed correctly, suggesting that an iron off the tee may provide a more favorable second shot position. Rainbow Hills has established itself as a significant venue for professional golf in South Korea, serving as the host for the Korea Women's Open since 2021. This tournament is the national championship of the LPGA of Korea, featuring both professional and amateur players. The course hosted the 39th edition of the event in 2025, where Lee Dong-eun claimed the title and a 300 million won first prize from a total purse of 1.2 billion won. The facility also supports other tour events, including the DB Women's Championship and the KLPGA 2026 Dream Tour, highlighting its capacity to host major competitive events.
