The Nursery Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole public course located just north of Lacombe, Alberta, situated between Edmonton and Calgary. The layout is characterized by significant length and strategic hazards, including water features and tree-lined fairways. The course features multiple tee box options for each hole, ranging from shorter back tees to extended forward tees, allowing for varied difficulty levels. The total yardage spans from approximately 2,700 yards on the shorter tees to over 5,800 yards on the championship tees. This par 6 measures 782 yards from the back tees and requires three well-placed shots to reach the green in regulation. The hole is described as demanding, with a blind second shot over water that requires precision. Other long holes include the 9th and 14th, both par 5s exceeding 500 yards, and the 13th, a massive par 3 that stretches to 233 yards from the back tees. Strategic placement is critical throughout the round. The 1st hole demands a long, accurate drive to avoid trees lining the fairway, while the 9th hole offers a strategic choice between a tighter second shot or a longer approach depending on the tee shot placement. Water hazards guard the 14th fairway, and the 15th requires careful layup decisions to avoid creek hazards. The 18th hole serves as a tough finisher, featuring a sloped green and a tee shot that must avoid a blind second shot if hit to the right side. The course includes a putting green for practice and a tournament house for events. The facility offers a fully stocked pro shop with brand-name equipment and apparel, as well as rental clubs and power or pull carts. The course also features a full-service RV park, catering to golfers seeking a retreat in the central Alberta landscape.
