The Locust Course is slightly more mature and measures 4,631 yards in length from the forward tees. The Maple Course is more wide open with spacious greens that measure 4,664 yards in length from the forward tees and 6,752 yards from the back tees. The Maple golf course was designed by the Kitchen Family and opened in 1999. Combined, both layouts cover over 280 acres of gently rolling hills, with ample room available to hold in errant shots but with some subtle but tricky elevation changes. The facility was named the 2025 Best Course in Springfield by the Springfield News-Sun and the Greater Springfield Partnership, adding to its legacy that includes the 2007 Course of the Year award from the Ohio Golf Course Owners Association. Locust Hills has welcomed golfers in Springfield since 1966, and as it approaches its 60th anniversary in 2026, it continues the family tradition as a family-owned and operated facility.
