Katori Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course located in Katori City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Tom Quinn and developed under the management of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., the course opened in December 1992. Situated near the Sawara-Katori Interchange on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway, the property spans a total area of approximately 893,000 square meters, with the golf course itself covering roughly 745,000 square meters. The layout measures 6,640 yards from the regular tees, offering a 5,305-yard configuration for ladies and a 6,078-yard length from the forward tees.
The course presents a strategic test for golfers, requiring the use of all 14 clubs in the bag. The front nine measures 3,312 yards, while the back nine extends to 3,328 yards. Notable holes include the par-5 18th, which plays 564 yards from the regular tees, and the 5th hole, a 510-yard par-5 that serves as the longest on the front nine. The handicap distribution suggests varied challenges throughout the round, with the 2nd hole marked as the most difficult at handicap 1, while the 14th hole is listed as the easiest at handicap 2.
Local rules specify that out-of-bounds areas are marked with white stakes, and repair grounds are indicated by blue stakes. All water hazards on the course are classified as lateral water hazards, marked by red stakes. The course also features natural stones and stone walls, which are treated as natural objects. Electromagnetic induction carts run on concrete tracks, and any ball or stance interfering with these tracks requires a drop. The club is affiliated with the Korea Golf Association (KGA) and the Japan Golf Association (JGA).
