Golfclub Flevoland is a 12-hole golf course located in Lelystad, positioned 3.5 meters below sea level directly behind the IJsselmeer dike. The course offers flexible playing options, allowing rounds of 9, 12, or 18 holes. Situated between the Oostelijk Flevoland dike and the Zuigerplasbos forest, the course features well-maintained fairways and notably fair, fast greens that present a challenging test of golf. Founded in March 1979, Golfclub Flevoland was the first golf club established in the Flevoland region, though its development faced significant obstacles. Initial plans for an 18-hole course in 1973 were abandoned due to railway construction plans, and later attempts in 1978 were halted when the local government opposed the project. Despite these setbacks, dedicated pioneers persisted in establishing the club, which eventually developed into its current 12-hole configuration.
