Wild Laurel Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 70 golf course measuring approximately 6,331 yards. Originally designed by noted course architect Ed Ault, the course opened in 1989. The course features Bent Grass greens and Bermuda Grass fairways. Located in Townsend, Tennessee, the course is situated just a short drive from Downtown Knoxville and is surrounded by breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Wild Laurel is Audubon International Certified, maintaining environmentally sound practices.
The layout combines tight fairways, strategic doglegs, modest elevation changes, and a few well-placed water hazards to create a course that is both rewarding and relaxing. While playing, golfers are likely to see turkeys strutting alongside meandering creeks, herds of deer peeking through the woods, or even black bears climbing trees. Formerly known as Laurel Valley Golf Course, the course was renamed in 2018 under new ownership, which introduced a series of thoughtful upgrades that have enhanced its appeal and playability. The course is open year-round and welcomes players of all skill levels.
