Walmer Golf Course

Walmer Golf Club, established in 1897, is Port Elizabeth's premier 9-hole course located in the city center near major beaches and hotels. Known as "Little Walmer," the course features 18 tee boxes that provide varying challenge depending on wind conditions. The signature par-3 6th hole measures 127 meters and demands precision to avoid a treacherous pond fronting and flanking the green. During the 2005 golf estate development, the clubhouse was rebuilt and five greens were upgraded with enhanced undulations and improved putting surfaces. Following a 2016 clubhouse fire, comprehensive renovations and facility upgrades were completed. The course accommodates a range of play styles and skill levels while maintaining competitive challenge. The modern clubhouse facilities support tournaments, corporate events, and social functions for groups of 20-200 people, serving both members and visitors with professional service and quality amenities.
