Walmer Golf Club

Walmer Golf Club, founded in 1897, is one of South Africa's oldest golf clubs and Port Elizabeth's premier 9-hole course. Located in the city center minutes from beaches and hotels, the course features 18 tee boxes that create varied playing difficulty depending on wind direction. The signature par 3 sixth hole, measuring 127 meters, demands precision to clear a treacherous pond fronting and flanking the green. During the 2005 golf estate development, the clubhouse was rebuilt and five greens were upgraded with enhanced undulations and improved putting surfaces. Following a 2016 clubhouse fire, further renovations modernized the facilities. The course is set within a residential golf estate offering a blend of challenging holes across compact terrain. The clubhouse accommodates tournaments, corporate events, and social functions for groups of 20-200 people, featuring modern amenities and professional service alongside dining facilities.
