Viniterra Golf Course ☆ Follow

The Club at Viniterra is an 18-hole championship course designed by Rees Jones, located 20 miles east of downtown Richmond in New Kent. The par is 72 with a length of 7496 yards, though the course is capable of measuring anywhere from 5,200 – 7,725 yards to accommodate players of varying skill levels. The course was designed by Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead, with elevation changes of as much as 70 feet from the tee to the green on most holes.

Situated between Richmond and Williamsburg on wooded hills, the course is a tough layout that demands accuracy. There are not many water hazards but strategically placed bunkering throughout. Working vineyards run alongside the lush fairways. The course prides itself on environmentally sensitive practices, saving as much as 80 percent of the water used on traditional courses through drought-resistant grass hybrid.

The course is ranked in the top 10 for Virginia. The signature 1st hole is a 570-yard par 5 with four bunkers in the driving zone and an amphitheater green, setting the tone with classic Rees Jones bunkering design.
