The Brookwoods Golf Club

Brookwoods Golf Club opened in 1976 as the first golf course in New Kent County. Located 15 minutes from downtown Richmond near exit 205 off I-64 East and 5 miles from Richmond Airport, the course features 18 holes comprising five par fives, five par threes, and eight par fours for a total par of 72.

The layout is characterized by tight tree-lined fairways with numerous doglegs throughout. The primary challenge lies in the green complexes, which feature varied slopes and rolls demanding precise shot placement and putting skill. Thirty-four strategically positioned bunkers, including several with Scottish-style sod wall faces, guard the greens and fairways. Water hazards appear on most holes, requiring careful navigation.

Each hole occupies its own secluded corridor, creating a sense of adventure for first-time players exploring the course. The terrain provides an interesting and engaging playing experience across all skill levels. The course underwent significant upgrades during its previous 25-year ownership before being purchased in 2019 by Robert and Jennifer Friend. The facility includes a practice driving range, putting greens, and a clubhouse with snack bar offering views of multiple holes.
