Villa Roma Golf Course was designed by Lindsay Ervin and David Postlewaite and opened in 1986 as an 18-hole course designed as a Par 71, 6,499 yard course for experts and 6,200-6,350 yards for beginners, young golfers and women. The course rating is 70.9 and it has a slope rating of 124. The resort course is nestled in the Catskill Mountains and is surrounded by scenic scenery, located in Callicoon, NY, part of the Catskill Mountains.

The front 9 is very generous off the tee but the greens must be read properly with its undulations, while the back nine is longer and more challenging, but rewards solidly struck shots. The longest hole on the course is #11, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards, the shortest hole is #7, a par-3 that plays to 171 yards from the back tees, and #3 is a 533-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. Villa Roma Golf Course has Bent grass greens and Bent grass fairways. Villa Roma Resort Golf Course Golf Club has an onsite driving range with 5 practice tees.
