Grossinger Country Club is a 27-hole golf facility located in Liberty, New York, consisting of an 18-hole course called "The Big G" and a 9-hole course called "The Little G." The facility opened in 1925, originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast and redesigned in 1968 by Joe Finger. The eighteen-hole Big G course is very scenic with a front nine that plays long and has narrow, tree-lined fairways. Following Finger's design philosophy, each nine starts atop a hill, works down into a valley, and back to the top of the hill, with many holes bending around bunkers and water hazards and various uphill, downhill, and side-hill lies due to elevation changes. The course provides practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and chipping areas, and is open to public play.
