Vidago Palace Golf Course is an 18-hole, Par 72 championship layout originally designed by Mackenzie Ross in 1936 and redesigned by Cameron & Powell. Located in Vidago, Portugal, the course is set within a historic centennial park featuring centuries-old trees and stone-walled tees built from local materials.
The course presents distinct sections: the opening four holes wind through the established park, eleven holes traverse the newly constructed Oura Valley, and the final three holes occupy elevated terrain offering panoramic views of surrounding hills and villages. The redesign rebuilt the course to USGA specifications for greens and tees while preserving the original design's character and respect for natural surroundings.
The course challenges experienced golfers with significant contrasts between holes and diverse shot requirements. Supporting facilities include a 340-meter driving range, chipping area, two putting greens, golf academy with modern practice facilities, clubhouse designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, pro-shop, and restaurant. Equipment rentals including buggies, trolleys, and clubs are available. The course is suitable for hosting international championships.
