Upchurch River Valley West Course

Upchurch River Valley Golf Course comprises three distinct layouts built on an undulating, well-draining site with far-reaching views over the Medway towns and Estuary. The 18-hole North Course is a par 72 that has matured into a challenging test for all golfers, featuring notable holes including the demanding 8th (par 4, 403 yards, stroke index 2) with its narrow fairway and uphill approach. The 9-hole South Course plays to par 36 and includes a signature par 5 8th hole of 623 yards on relatively flatter terrain. The 9-hole Academy Course (par 33) offers sloping greens and tree-lined fairways in a more scenic setting.

The courses are renowned for their year-round playability due to excellent drainage, rarely requiring closure. Key characteristics include strategic bunkering, water hazards, and elevation changes that create distinct challenges. Featured holes showcase varied difficulties—the North Course's 3rd (par 3, 223 yards) plays to the course's smallest green, while the 12th provides views over multiple holes with pond and conifer hazards. The finishing 18th is a 410-yard par 4 with a blind tee shot over a hill leading to a three-tiered green.
