Located in Funaoshi, Tako Town, Chiba Prefecture, the Tokyo International Airport Golf Club is a flat, 18-hole course set in a landscape with minimal elevation changes. The terrain features a total height difference of approximately 10 meters, creating a layout that is technically demanding despite its lack of significant hills. The course is designed to offer distinct challenges for every hole, requiring precise shot-making and strategic thinking from players of all skill levels. The course is divided into two distinct nines. The front nine is characterized by varied distances and undulations, presenting a mix of long par fours and par fives that require careful navigation. The back nine offers a flatter, more open playing experience with fewer traps, allowing for easier score-making if players avoid the hazards. The total yardage varies by tee box, ranging from 5,570 yards from the Long Tees to 6,724 yards from the Blue Tees, with a consistent par of 72 across all configurations. Key characteristics of the layout include extensive out-of-bounds areas and water hazards that define the strategic options on many holes. The front nine features a par-3 that requires a carry over a large pond, while the 538-yard 9th hole presents a long par-5 challenge. The back nine includes a 531-yard par-5 and a 492-yard par-5 that test distance control. Several holes, such as the 10th and 14th, are lined with out-of-bounds, forcing accuracy off the tee. The course is a non-metal spike facility, requiring players to use soft-soled shoes.
