Located in Tochigi City, Tochigigaoka Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course spanning 6,903 yards, designed by Miyamoto Rikichi and constructed by Obayashi Corporation. Opened in September 1991, the facility sits just three minutes from the Tochigi Interchange, offering views of the Kanto Plain. The course is divided into an Out Course and an In Course, with the latter featuring several dogleg holes that require strategic management. The front nine presents a mix of challenges, starting with a downhill par-4 where a red penalty area lies 20 yards past a left cross bunker. The second hole is a demanding par-3 over water, with out-of-bounds flanking both sides. The third hole, a par-5, requires a tee shot over water, with out-of-bounds running along the right side toward the green. The fourth hole is a short par-4 dogleg right, featuring two consecutive right cross bunkers that encourage players to aim left. The fifth hole is another par-3 over water, where landing short results in a difficult approach. The back nine continues the strategic theme, beginning with a downhill par-4 where out-of-bounds runs along the left side. The course is known for its wide fairways and natural tree integration, though the greens can be fast, particularly on the longer holes. The club maintains a practice facility with 11 bays and a 180-yard range. The club's symbol is the Blue Rock Thrush, reflecting a desire for the venue to be as beautiful and calming as lapis lazuli.
