The Seawane Club is located in Hewlett Harbor, New York and borders an inlet of Hewlett Bay on the South Shore. The 18-hole course features 6,725 yards of golf for a par of 72. The links-style golf course was designed by renowned architect Devereux Emmet and restored by Jeff Stein. Emmet originally carved out the course in true links style, with 200 bunkers but seldom a tree in sight, much of it on land reclaimed from the marshes.

The recent restoration by Jeff Stein created a golfing experience that conveys the feeling of being close to the sea by incorporating views of sand and fescue from tee to green, with native sandy landscape merging seamlessly into formal greenside bunkers. The course features narrow fairways and relatively small greens, making it difficult. Water comes into play on several holes as the course routes throughout the channel on the front nine. Notable holes include the drivable par 4 fourth hole negotiating a tee shot over the canal, the par 3 eighth surrounded by a moat bunker, and the challenging closing hole, an uphill par 4. In 2004, the club was awarded the New York Sports Writers Association Golf Club of the year.
