The Legend Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1986, is an 18-hole championship course at Shanty Creek Resort in northern Michigan. The course is characterized by multiple elevation changes, doglegs, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers throughout the layout.

Set in a scenic landscape, The Legend offers views of Lake Bellaire while Shanty Creek creek itself meanders through the round, adding to the natural beauty of the course. The terrain features rolling hills typical of the Antrim County region, creating a challenging and visually engaging experience.

The course presents a moderate to challenging difficulty level, with slope ratings ranging from 115 to 137 depending on tee selection. Arnold Palmer's design helped establish northern Michigan as a notable golf destination, earning recognition from Golf Magazine as a "Top Resort Course" in the United States and receiving a 4½-star rating from Golf Digest.

The Legend operates with fairway distance markers for precise yardage determination and adheres to U.S.G.A. rules for all play. The course is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays.
