Shanty Creek Resort - Schuss Mountain Golf Course

Schuss Mountain Golf Club, designed by Warner Bowen and opened in 1972, presents a challenging layout spanning 7,013 yards across pine-dotted forests, wetlands, and rolling hills in Antrim County, Michigan. The course plays like two distinct nine-hole courses: the front nine doglegs through flat pine forests, while the back nine features dramatic elevation changes across rolling terrain, creating varied playing conditions throughout the round.

The course is known for its difficulty, challenging even accomplished golfers with demanding par opportunities. Course conditions are maintained to high standards. Multiple tee options accommodate various skill levels, with ratings ranging from 65.4 to 73.5 and slopes from 116 to 130. The course employs fairway distance markers for precise yardage determination and operates under USGA Rules. Schuss Mountain is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and is part of Shanty Creek Resort's five-course championship facility in northern Michigan.
