Shanty Creek Resort - Summit Golf Course

Summit Golf Club, designed by William Diddel and opened in 1965, is an 18-hole course at Shanty Creek Resort described as "an under-appreciated gem." While not exceptionally long, the course demands precision and a strong short game, with fast, challenging greens that require accurate approach shots and landings.

The layout features a Par Three tee box on every hole, making it accessible for junior golfers to develop their skills in a less-intimidating environment. This design philosophy balances the course's appeal across all skill levels, though accomplished golfers will find the greens present a significant test.

Located in northern Michigan's Antrim County, Summit Golf Club operates as part of Shanty Creek's five-course golf complex. The course maintains distance markers in the fairways for precise yardage determination and operates under U.S.G.A. rules. It is closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. With slope and rating options ranging across multiple tee boxes, the course accommodates various ability levels while maintaining its demanding green complexes as the primary challenge.
