Tana Birdie Golf is a 27-hole short course located in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, designed by professional Koji Ogawa. Opened in September 1975, the facility features Korean bentgrass greens and offers a total yardage of 887 to 1,042 yards with a par of 27. The course is characterized by its varied terrain, incorporating both tee shots from elevated positions and downhill approaches that require precise distance control. The layout is designed to challenge accuracy and strategy, with narrow fairways and hazards that penalize errant shots. The first hole demands immediate precision, featuring out-of-bounds on the right and a one-stroke penalty area on the left. The third hole serves as the course's longest, presenting a right green guarded by bunkers and a left green protected by water. The fourth hole is a distinct water carry, where overcoming the pressure of the pond is key to scoring well. A signature feature of the course is the sixth hole, which offers views of the Tatsunuma mountain range. This downhill hole tests players with accurate distance judgment. The seventh hole is equally demanding, with bunkers on both sides and a water hazard to the right of the green, where steep back-to-front slopes make reading the break critical for putting. The ninth hole provides a challenging finish with two tee positions. The right tee offers a slight downhill shot with hazards on the right, while the left tee is longer with out-of-bounds on the right and a one-stroke penalty area on the left. The course also features an approach green and has recently increased rough density to enhance strategic play.
