Taiko-dan Country Club Tanba Course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout located in KyoTamba, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Takeshi Ohashi, the course opened on July 15, 1967, and is set on hilly terrain that utilizes natural contours to create a challenging environment for golfers. The course features bentgrass greens, which were upgraded in November 2016, and offers a total distance of 7,018 yards from the back tees with a course rating of 73.0. The layout is characterized by wide fairways that demand precision off the tee, particularly on holes where the landing areas are constrained by slopes or hazards. The front nine includes a demanding par-3 third hole that stretches 248 yards from the back tees, requiring careful club selection to avoid overshooting the small target. The seventh hole presents a significant risk with a water hazard running along the left side of the green, penalizing shots that stray too far left. The back nine features a strong par-5 thirteenth hole, measuring 549 yards from the back tees, where players must navigate out-of-bounds on the left side while dealing with strong undulations on the green. Signature challenges include the twelfth hole, a par-4 that plays to an elevated, platform-style green requiring a long approach shot. The eighteenth hole serves as a testing par-5, measuring 589 yards from the back tees, where the second shot must avoid bunkers to set up a manageable finish. The course offers multiple tee boxes for different skill levels, including ladies' and regular tees, with distances ranging from 240 yards on the shortest par-4 tenth hole to 606 yards on the longest par-5 fourth hole.
