Stonehenge Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 private members-only course located in the rolling hills of Lake Barrington, Illinois. Designed by Charles Maddox Sr., an Illinois PGA Hall of Fame inductee, and built by Charles Maddox Jr. in 1972, the course remains family-owned and operated today.
The course features large greens and offers four sets of tees to accommodate golfers of varying skill levels. With two distinct nine-hole experiences, Stonehenge is designed to balance challenge with playability, featuring risk and reward throughout the round without being excessively punishing. The course can be completed in 3-4 hours and is easily walkable, though golf carts are available.
Amenities include a 220-yard practice range, snack bar, and online tee time booking. Members enjoy reasonable rates, weekend and holiday tee time access, and the ability to bring up to three guests. The club positions itself as strictly dedicated to golf, fostering a community of like-minded players.
