Barrington Hills Country Club

Course Information Unclaimed

The 18-hole course features 6795 yards of golf for a par of 71. Designed by O'Neil, Roseman & Croke, the course opened in 1921. Located 40 miles outside of Chicago, the course sits on 200 acres of rolling countryside. Tom Doak's Renaissance Golf Design has consulted here for a number of years.

The Par 71 rolling course features six sets of tees for all ability levels and some of the truest and fastest greens in the area. Large, severely undulating greens reward the steady player. Notable holes include a trio of varied par 4s on the front nine, with the 6th featuring fairway pinched by bunkers, and the back nine features strong par 3s and closes with a 425-yard dogleg left 18th. The course is described as a rock-solid layout with a rare set of rolling greens as the foundation of an excellent test.

The course was part of Golf Digest's original 200 Toughest Courses list from 1967-'68. The course was selected as a U.S. Open qualifier in 2019.
