The Mathern Course is an 18-hole par-68 course measuring 5,730 yards, located at the Marriott St. Pierre Hotel & Country Club near Chepstow in Monmouthshire, Wales. The course sits within 400 acres of picturesque parkland surrounding a historic 14th-century manor house, offering a blend of ancient architecture and modern amenities. Set in rolling countryside near the Severn Estuary, the course features mature parkland design with water hazards and undulating fairways that present challenges to golfers of all abilities.

The Mathern Course was originally opened in 1974 and underwent significant redesign in 2007-2008 by acclaimed architect Ross McMurray. The renovation included construction of 18 new tee complexes, reconstruction and repositioning of bunkers, and improvements to drainage and irrigation systems. The course is characterized by its old oak trees with overhanging branches, alongside lateral ditches and some narrow fairways typical of established parkland layouts. The signature hole is the par-5 14th, which requires crossing two small rivers and is recognized as the course's most memorable feature.

While the Old Course has hosted major championships including the Solheim Cup and British Masters, the Mathern Course serves as a complementary offering, presenting an equally enjoyable but shorter alternative. The course accommodates golfers from novice to experienced levels and is open to the public as part of the Marriott St. Pierre resort complex.
