Silver Lake Golf Course is an 18-hole course in Staten Island featuring 6,050 yards of golf for a par of 69. Designed by John Van Kleek, the course opened in 1929. Located along Staten Island's North Shore, the course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways, appearing shorter at just over 6,000 yards than it actually plays.
The tight layout demands accuracy throughout, especially on the lengthier holes. Holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North, offering interesting risk-reward opportunities. The course is hilly with minimal water hazards, and features multi-tiered greens that make putting challenging.
Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which has garnered a strong following among local players. The course is owned and operated by New York City. The course is open to the General Public all year long.
