Shelter Island Country Club, affectionately known as "Goat Hill," is a historic nine-hole public golf course established in 1901 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The course covers 2,512 yards across widely varying, hilly terrain that has remained largely unchanged for over 120 years. Located on one of the island's highest points, the course offers scenic views of Peconic Bay and Dering Harbor. The terrain variations and pasture-style layout create an interesting and challenging round, with the course consistently ranked among the oldest continuously operated nine-hole courses in the United States.

The course features a seven-station driving range, and golf carts, pull carts, and clubs are available for rental. The clubhouse is a two-story Colonial Revival-style structure with a full-length front porch offering views of the surrounding area. The facility includes the 1901 Grill restaurant open for lunch and dinner from mid-April to mid-October, and a bar open year-round during the regular season. The club operates as a public course with membership options starting at $500, making it one of the most affordable memberships on Long Island.
