The Chapelco Golf & Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén Province, in the Andean Patagonia region of Argentina. The course is situated within the Vega Maipú Valley, positioned between the "Chapelco Chico" mountain range and the "Loma Atravesada de Taylor" area. It is crossed by the Quilquihué River and the Chapelco Grande, with the landscape characterized by views of snowy peaks and the surrounding mountain terrain. The course was designed by Nicklaus Design, the firm founded by Jack Nicklaus, and opened in February 2006. It holds the distinction of being the first golf course in South America designed by the firm. The layout is integrated into a real estate development that blends with the local landscape, offering a setting that combines golf with the natural environment of the Patagonian mountains. Tournament activity at the course includes the annual Nicklaus South America Cup, an event that brings together partners of courses designed by Nicklaus Design from across the region. The course has also hosted the Easter Open, an amateur tournament featuring formats such as American Fourball and Medal Play for ladies, gentlemen, and mixed teams. The facility has been recognized by the World Golf Awards, winning titles for Best Golf Course and Best Golf Hotel in Argentina in 2025.
