The Red Fox Course is located in the village of Foxfire, North Carolina, just minutes from the world famous Village of Pinehurst. It was designed by famed architect Gene Hamm, who constructed the course to take advantage of the land's rolling hills, soft sandy soils and plentiful lakes. The course plays to a par of 72 with a length of 6743 yards. The Red Fox Course opened in 1969.

The Red Fox Course is a favorite of those enthusiastic golfers visiting the Sandhills area, with wide fairways providing golfers with more room for their tee shots, which can be welcoming for players of various skill levels. Water comes into play on 6 holes requiring forced carries from the back tees but with the option of going around the hazards from the forward tees, and fairway bunkers are strategically placed with sand guarding the greens. The Gene Hamm design offers plenty of "bail out" places to avoid the most severe drop offs and deep faced bunkers.
