Quinta do Lago South Course is the flagship championship golf course at Quinta do Lago Resort in the Algarve, Portugal. Designed by William Mitchell in 1974, this par 72 course stretches 6,500 metres and was recognized as Europe and Portugal's Best Golf Course 2024 by the World Golf Awards.

Set among umbrella pines, lakes, and wildflowers with views overlooking the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the course presents varied challenges for all skill levels. The front nine winds through parkland favoring a draw, while the back nine loops around the lake, favoring a fade. The 8th, 15th, and 18th holes present particular tests for low-handicap players, with strategically positioned hazards and doglegs requiring accurate tee shots.

The course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times, most notably in 1989 when Colin Montgomerie won at 24 under par, carding a record round of 63. Mitchell's design introduced American-standard greens, tees, and bunkers to the region, establishing the South Course as a prestigious European Tour venue favored by professional players.
