大原・御宿ゴルフコース is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Oohara, Isesaki City, Chiba Prefecture, situated on the high ground of the Minamiboso peninsula. Designed by renowned architect Seiichi Inoue, it was his final project before his passing. The course spans 6,862 yards from the back tees and is characterized by its rolling terrain and a total of 110 strategically placed bunkers. Inoue’s design philosophy for the course was to create a layout that is forgiving for beginners while presenting significant challenges for advanced players. The front nine features a mix of par-4s, par-5s, and two par-3s, including the 173-yard fourth hole, which is designated as a "near-pin" hole. The fifth hole stands as the longest on the front nine at 579 yards. The back nine introduces two holes labeled as "famous holes" or signature holes: the 431-yard eleventh and the 400-yard seventeenth. The course also includes two par-4s designated for drive contests, the eighth on the front nine and the eighteenth on the back nine, which stretches to 419 yards from the back tees. The layout utilizes both Bentgrass and Koirai turf varieties, with yardages varying significantly depending on the tee box selected. The course is open year-round and operates as an all-self-service facility, offering GPS-equipped golf carts for play.
